I, me, mine

Via Pandagon, I came across this video of Senator Obama addressing his campaign staff.



One of the things I found most interesting about that performance was how many times he said "you" speaking to his staff compared to how few times he said "I."

Earlier, I noted that Frank Rich saw the same pattern in other speeches by Senator Obama. Regarding the speeches each candidate gave on the last day of the primary, Rich noted that Senator Clinton referred to herself by the first-person pronoun 64 times in her speech, Senator McCain 60 times in his, but Senator Obama only 30 times in his.
